Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you must be a YMCA member to participate in our scheduled classes and programs.
Membership grants you access to all group fitness classes, specialty sports programs, open court time, and wellness facilities.
It is strongly recommended that participants wear a traditional Karate gi (uniform) to class.
Wearing a gi allows for proper freedom of movement during kicks, strikes, and footwork, while fostering a focused and respectful training environment. If you are a beginner attending your first few sessions, comfortable, non-restrictive athletic wear (like sweatpants and a t-shirt) is perfectly fine while you get settled into the program!
