Strengthening Communities

The YMCA of Glendale is a nonprofit that has been serving the surrounding community since 1922 when it first opened. The Y is committed to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The mission of the Y is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all, and we welcome and support children and families of ALL ages, religions, incomes and abilities.

Our Cause

At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Our Focus

  • Healthy Living: With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health, and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun, and shared interests.

  • Youth Development: Through the Y, thousands of youth today are cultivating the values, social skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement.

  • Social Responsibility: The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. It is only through the support of our volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to give back to the communities we serve.
